Looks like the Yuba County Casino is coming according to today's A-D. Good or bad?
The construction phase will be good. Traffic thru Wheatland will not be good.
Does anyone know what they plan to build? Will it be bigger and better than Thunder Valley?

just what we need is another casino. it may help in the construction phase maybe employ a few locals after opening, but really the yuba-sutter area don't need a local casino to go spend money they really don't have. looks to me like it may help generate money for money for local business but really don't see it helping local residents. Olivehurst residents may need the job's but they can not afford the temptation of a quick buck with number of unemployed and on federal aid

Another one!?! Yikes!!! I have mixed feelings about this topic. Remember when you had to drive to Reno or South Shore to gamble? Now we have a casino within a short drive of most everyone's home in CA and sometimes you have more than one! BTW, can anyone tell me how Butte County/Oroville, the poorest town in one of the poorest counties, allowed two Indian casinos w/i five miles of each other?

The idea that it brings employment to the area is great, the suggestion that someone is going gamble over their income ability is saying you are in control of everyones common sense. Whether it be a casino locally, Reno, South Shore, card club in town, state lotto, scratch offs, cockfight at Bills barn people will gamble wheher they can afford it or not

But, should the temptation be legitimized by placing a casino so close to highly populated areas?

Where can't you buy lotto tickets and Bills barn is only 1/2 mile away

A slot machine or gaming table sucks more cash, more quickly, than lotto tix. What the heck is Bill's Barn?

like any vice, location won't mean much. 5 miles or 500 miles away, those that have to have it will find a way. gambling is prevelant on the internet as well so these days you don't even need to leave the house to find a way to throw your money away.

My kids are grown, and it's not my goal in life to babysit those that can't live within their means, manage their money or even earn it.

I like the idea of a new casino and would visit if it were to open.

Thanks to bills's barn for the handicap parking. much appreciated!

Is gambling a vice? Some just enjoy it and can afford to lose a set amount. Kind of like budgeting $150.00 to go to a concert but instead go to a casino.

It will be nice to have some development in that part of the county and hopefully it will lead to more buisnesses going in there.
