Yuba Environmental Science Charter Academy has openings on its Council of Directors.  This is a volunteer position in which one would provide input on school policies, participate in committees to develop and research programs, purchases, and/or policies for the school, and generally act on behalf of building a quality local independent school.  If you or someone you know is interested, please submit a letter of interest and resume to YES Charter Academy, 9841 Texas Hill Rd, Oregon House, CA or mail it to PO Box 180, Dobbins, CA 95935 or email it to ksmith@yescharteracademy.org.

YES Charter Academy is a small school of 84 students in grades Kindergarten through 8.  We teach all subjects using environmental and agricultural sciences and believe in developing the whole child through hands on project learning, real world experiences, and service to others and our community.  We have adopted the Seeds of Science Roots of Reading program from Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkley and our teachers participate in ongoing research in science in education.  We are poised for growth at our current site and beyond. Feel free to call the school at (530)692-2210 with any questions.

Please do not forget to teach our youngsters the United States Constitution as well as the California State Constitution. Generations have been removed from the God inspired law of our land. God Bless You.

As a free public charter school, we make sure that we cover the Constitution and the many other standards that our state has required as part of our curriculum. We have a special tradition each morning of joining as a whole school in the lunchroom for announcements and celebrations before saying the Pledge of Allegiance together and going to our classes.

Many of our classrooms have taken the time to create their own Constitutions as well, an effort at the beginning of the year that required students to debate, listen to one another, and commit to behaving appropriately in a positive classroom community. Citizenship and critical thinking are key components of our school values.
