No More Schwans in Loma Rica

We had seen the news about Schwans closing the Rocklin and Woodland distribution centers, and now, we received the letter discontinuing service here in Loma Rica. I don't know how many others ordered, but we were regular customers. We are very saddened by the closure, and also the fact our great delivery person, Jason, might be joining the world of the unemployed.

We wish him all the best. We enjoyed his service immensely.

I wonder what it would take for us to get serviced from their Chico, CA facility??

Oh no! I had read about the distribution center closing but have not received the letter. This is so sad. We too were regular customers.

I know the Schwan man services Brownsville and he may be from the Chico center. You might want to make some inquiries and see if you can get him to drop stuff off there or meet him there. He visits Books & More and the bank, so check with either perhaps.

We have been Schwans customers for years. It seems to me that with so many customers in the Foothills they would make some kind of arrangements.
The letter we received said that we could order online and UPS would deliver in a cold pack with dry ice!! I am not really ready for that kind of deliveries.

The UPS delivery charge is obscene. I did email the Chico depot contact. He read the email, but he did not respond. Hopefully enough people from the area will make an inquiry, and they will put Loma Rica on the Chico route.

When we lived in Penryn we loved getting Schwanns. I went through a period when I was working on the regular delivery day. WE often ordered on-line and got the US delivery. Everything arrived frozen in dry ice and was really no big deal. Better than not receiving deliveries at all. We don't get deliveries up here, but I hope you all can continue getting service from Chico. But if not don't hesitate to get the UPS deliverly. LIke I said it was no big deal.

I talked to our Schwann's delivery man last night--Jason. He said that Oregon House and Dobbins are already set up to get delivery out of Chico.
Other good news: even though Jason will be unemployed, he also has plans to pursue something he's been wanting to do for a while. He's looking at it as a push in that direction, not as an ending.

I spoke with my Schwann man yesterday who comes out of Chico. He said that some of the area will be absorbed by Chico and delivery should start in a couple weeks. He also said that he would be willing to come up on a Saturday and park somewhere so people without service can come get product but he would not be allowed to go door to door.

Delivery at Pizza Roundup would be nice on a Saturday. Everyone knows where it is.

That's awesome if we are going to be serviced by Chico. I sent an email to the Chico office. I saw where they read my email; however, no one responded,. I am going to call on Monday. Maybe that will do the trick.

I contacted customer service via their chat window on the website. There are no plans for them to service our area from the Chico Depot.
